Banyan Bar and Kitchen in Harrogate is set to close next month.
The venue is due to close on Saturday 3rd January, with food being served until 5pm on the final day.
The official reason has not yet been revealed, however staff were informed of the decision last week.
Located on John Street, Banyan has operated in Harrogate for around 20 years.
Reacting to the news, one resident said:
"I'm sad to see Banyan closing down. We have been going there since it opened and it's always played a big part in our Christmas Eve family get-togethers for many years now."
Head Chef Si Parsons said:
"Not sure I can say why we’re closing but nevertheless it’s a sad time for everyone.
"We’ll be closing on Jan 3rd with food served up until 5pm. We hope to see you here."
