Annual beer festival returns to support Pannal church

The 14th annual beer festival will be held this month.

An annual beer festival in support of St Robert's Church in Pannal will return for a 14th year next weekend.

The festival will run on Friday 19th September (5pm–11pm) and on Saturday 20th September (2pm–9pm).

Saturday’s programme will coincide with the church’s Family Fun Day between 2pm and 5pm, which includes stalls, ice cream and the popular Teddy Zipwire attraction.

Food options will be available throughout the weekend, including pulled pork sandwiches and crisps, alongside a Prosecco bar, wine, cider and soft drinks for those who prefer alternatives to beer.

A pub quiz is scheduled for Saturday evening (7.30pm–9pm), while raffles will take place on both Friday and Saturday nights.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday 21st September, with Hymns with Beer, a service combining worship and music held from 4pm to 6pm.

Tickets and entry

Entry to the Fun Day is free of charge. Beer Festival tickets cost £15, covering admission, a commemorative half-pint glass, four tokens for beer or prosecco, and a programme with tasting notes.

Additional tokens can be purchased at the door.

Designated drivers or others not drinking alcohol can request free entry on Friday and Saturday evenings, though this does not include drinks tokens or a glass.

Tickets will be available both at the door and in advance from the church office or online.

Beers

The festival will feature a range of beers from local and regional breweries, with most new to this year’s event.

Breweries represented include:

  • Daleside Brewery – Blonde Ale
  • Harrogate Brewery – Best Bitter, Pinewoods Pale
  • John of Gaunt Ales – ’21 Pale Ale
  • Kirkstall Brewery – Three Swords (Extra Pale Ale)
  • Roosters Brewery – Yorkshire Pale Ale
  • Saltaire Brewery – Cascade, Blonde Ale
  • Timothy Taylor’s – Boltmaker
  • Wharfedale Brewery – IPA, Citra

Festivalgoers will also be able to vote for their “Beer of the Festival.”

In case of poor weather, all activities can take place under cover. Parking is available at the church, with bus and train links within a five-minute walk.
