A 13-year-old boy from Harrogate has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a motorbike and for further drug offences.
Police seized the motorbike, which they believe to have been stolen, from the teen on Friday (10th January).
He “made off” from officers before he was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a class A and a class B drug.
He remains in custody.
A police spokesperson said:
“We attempted to stop the bike in Dragon Parade at just before 12pm. The single occupant abandoned it in the street and made off from us.”
Police have been unable to identify the motorbike’s owner but are looking for the owner (proof of ownership will need to be provided).
The spokesperson added:
“Anyone with information that could assist the investigation or would help in identifying the owner should email ethan.fleming@northyorkshire.police.uk.
“You can also call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and ask for Ethan Fleming.
“If you wish to remain anonymous, you can pass information to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
