Pottery Skill Building with Amy - 6 Week Course

This pottery course is suitable for beginners and those with some experience, you will explore the creative possibilities of ceramics through hand-building techniques designed for both functional and sculptural work. This course introduces students to the foundations of pottery hand-building, with a focus on creating domestic ware such as bowls, cups, plates, tiles and vessels, alongside expressive sculptural pieces.

Pottery students will learn and practice essential techniques including slab rolling, coil building, and pinch pot making, developing skills in form, construction, surface texture, and composition. Through guided projects and experimentation, participants will gain confidence working with clay while exploring both practical design and personal artistic expression.

This 6 week course encourages creativity, craftsmanship, and an understanding of ceramic processes from initial idea through to finished glazed work.
