Your Harrogate Radio - Your views so far...

With Your Harrogate Radio set to launch on 1st March, we asked you what you'd like to see and hear. And here's what you said...

So we’re launching a brand new radio station. We have a blank piece of A4 paper. We have new felt tip pens... So what are we going to do on Your Harrogate Radio on 1st March? We thought we should ask you... https://twitter.com/your_harrogate/status/1353995223647584257 This truly local radio station is as much yours as it is ours and will only be a big success if we listen to our listeners! So we’ve been asking you to tell us what you’d like to hear on Your Harrogate Radio and we’re offering you the chance to win a brand new smart speaker just for taking five minutes to give us your views. And here's what's been said so far...

“Keep it local and keep the laughs coming” says Jane. “We need all the local banter as everybody needs cheering up a bit right now” says Toby. Tracy wants “lots of interesting and relevant chat” (Nick Hancock’s show probably won’t be for you Tracy). Adam likes the idea of family prizes: “Giveaways like meals at restaurants, trips out and things we can do with the kids like days out”. Natalie needs her road reports: “Local Travel reports which we have really missed during the snow”. Community is important to Jenny: “I’d like to hear all about local fundraising”. Musically, Caroline wants variety: “A bit of old and new like Radio 2”. Trish has listed some of her favourite artists: “Coldplay, Elton, Take That, Gaga, Abba and Pink”. Matthew has suggested “a kids hour on a weekend” - we love that idea! And finally anonymous says: “Change your logo you look like a branch of Subway!”
Keep your views coming. We love reading what you’ve got to say. We want to get the radio station just right for you so you listen morning, noon and night online, on the app and on your smart speaker. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
