Which Harrogate schools are taking part in Walk to School Day?

The third 'Walk to School Day' takes place today (Friday) with schools across the Harrogate district ditching their cars in favour of hitting the pavements. The event, organised by Zero Carbon Harrogate, aims to encourage better transport habits and combat the effects of climate change. Children and their parents are encouraged to leave their cars at home and walk, cycle, take public transport or 'park and stride' in their journey to school. Two Walk to School Days have already successfully taken place, with more than 40 schools taking part in the previous event in October. The idea was pioneered by Western Primary School and takes place every half term. With a lot of schools across the area having inset and training days today, here are the schools taking part: Ashville College Senior Harrogate High School King James's School Admiral Long CE Primary School Ashville College Pre & Prep Aspin Park Academy Birstwith CE Primary School Burton Leonard Church of England (VC) Primary School Coppice Valley Follifoot Primary School Fountains Earth Highfield Prep School Killinghall C of E Primary Oatlands Infant School Oatlands Junior School Pannal Primary Richard Taylor School Scotton Lingerfield Primary School Sharow CE Primary School Skelton Newby Hall CE Primary School Spofforth Church Of England Primary School St Joseph's Catholic Primary School St. Mary's Catholic Primary School Knaresborough St Peter's CE Primary School St Roberts Catholic Primary School Tockwith Church of England Primary Academy Find out more about Zero Carbon Harrogate's Walk to School Day here.
