A talented team of footballers from Saltergate Schools have won a tournament hosted by Harrogate Town Football club and The Premier League Primary Stars Programme.
The Saltergate girls team were crowned winners of the competition held at Rossett Sports Centre yesterday (Tuesday), remaining undefeated throughout and scoring 20 goals.
The tournament was contested by girl’s school teams from across the area.

The win means Saltergate’s girls are now through to the Premier League Primary Stars Regional Qualifiers, which will be held in Newcastle on the 11th March.
They’re also set to play in the Regional Finals for the Pokemon Primary School Cup in the coming weeks.
A spokesperson for Saltergate Schools said:
“We are super proud of all the girls and cannot wait to see what they achieve next.
“A massive thank you to our amazing staff who organised and gave up their time at the tournament, our lovely parents for taking the girls to the event and being super supporters all the way through, Harrogate Town AFC Community Foundation for organising this event, Rossett School for their Sports Leaders and an even bigger thank you to Dom, one of our parents who gave up his time to help coach the girls today."
They added:
“There really was some amazing football skills and attitudes on show today from all the teams.
"Well done to all.”
