A Harrogate charity supporting young people and adults with complex disabilities is appealing for donations as it prepares to move into a new, purpose-fit space.
The Sibling Group was founded in Harrogate by CEO Grace Williams, inspired by her younger brother Oscar who has a severe learning disability and autism.
The charity runs Oscar’s Pathway, a specialist day centre providing care and support for young people and adults with the most complex needs.
Led by Grace, an experienced SEND teacher, alongside a team of support workers, the service focuses on developing key life skills including engagement, communication and independence.

Oscar’s Pathway offers post-16 placements, either alongside or instead of college, as well as respite care for young people aged 11 and over on weekends and during school holidays. The long-term aim is to support individuals throughout their adult lives.
The charity is now preparing to move into a new building but says urgent funding is needed to make the space safe, accessible and suitable for those it supports.
Work is required to decorate and adapt the building, including painting, creating a sensory room and garden, and purchasing essential resources such as sensory equipment, cooking tools and art materials.

The new facility will also allow the charity to expand its offer, including delivering qualifications and work experience opportunities to improve independence and quality of life.
Grace said:
"Your generosity will directly empower us to create an inspiring sanctuary where every service user feels valued and supported on their unique journey.
"Together, let’s take this huge step forward, because every child deserves a place they can truly call their own."
The charity is calling on the local community to support the project by donating funds, resources or items such as sensory toys, furniture and equipment to help bring the new space to life.
Anyone interested in supporting Oscar’s Pathway can do so via JustGiving here. For more information, email at hannah@thesiblinggroup.org.
