North Yorkshire Council is offering first-time traders the chance to run their own stall for free at a number of local markets.
It’s part of ‘Love Your Local Market’ fortnight, which runs between 16th and 31st May.
The national initiative is designed to celebrate and support vibrant local markets.
And North Yorkshire Council is offering free one-day pitches at markets including Ripon and Knaresborough.
Successful applicants will get a one-day pitch at their selected market - but will need to bring their own gazebos, frames and tables.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Council said:
“To ensure a smooth and successful experience, applications must provide proof of right to work in the UK, public Liability Insurance, photo ID and food hygiene certificates.”
Stallholders will be given the choice of markets in Thirsk, Northallerton, Ripon, Knaresborough, Pickering, Helmsley, and Whitby.
For more information and to book your pitch, email ParksandGroundsCommercial@northyorks.gov.uk
