Town boss points towards mindset as home form fails to match away form

Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver has said that the "mindset" of the players could be behind their poor form at home.

Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver has said that the "mindset" of the players could be behind their poor form at home. Town were beat 4-1 at home to league leaders Forest Green on Tuesday night, going in 3-0 down at half time. And Simon Weaver's side are yet to win a league two fixture at home since 9th October - although have picked up a number of impressive results away. Speaking about the difference in their home and away form, Simon told Your Harrogate it's down to both mindset and rashness. He said:

"Maybe it's just a mindset away from home and you know there are times when you will be called upon defensively in your units. There's that real attention to detail from players to not go to ground and not make rash decisions. "Perhaps there's a bit of rashness and we need to show the lads that in the videos. "It's happened quite a few times this season and we're trying to iron out those wrinkles in our performance levels because we have to be better if we want to earn results against the top teams at this level at home."
Harrogate Town were able to beat Portsmouth away from home in the FA Cup - a team in the division above - to earn a place in the competition's third round for the first time. Despite hopes of a glamour tie with a top Premier League side, Town were drawn against Luton Town of the Championship. Speaking about the FA Cup draw, Simon said:
"Being honest, everyone wanted a Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or Tottenham - right at the elite end - just because they're such prestigious opposition. "Luton are halfway up the Championships table, obviously have a talented squad and it will be a hard game but another new experience for us. "In the FA Cup - a one-off occasion - anything can happen."
