RHS Garden Harlow Carr has unveiled plans for a new lakeside kiosk aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.
The proposed Lakeside Kiosk would be set within an improved landscape at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, with materials and planting chosen to reflect the garden’s natural character.
According to the plans, the wider landscaping around the lake will aim to enhance the garden’s connection to its setting, while also supporting biodiversity.
A spokesperson for RHS Harlow Carr said:
"We’re delighted to share plans for a new Lakeside Kiosk, set within an enhanced landscape around the Queen Mother’s Lake.
"Thoughtfully designed to sit beautifully within its surroundings, it will offer a relaxed spot to pause, enjoy refreshments and take in those much-loved garden views."
The development forms part of a broader review of food and drink provision across the garden.
Bettys Café Tea Rooms and Shop will continue to operate the Café Tea Rooms and shop, remaining a central feature of the visitor offer.
Alongside this, RHS’s in-house catering team plans to introduce new RHS-run outlets elsewhere within the garden.
The RHS Harlow Carr spokesperson added:
"These changes reflect our wider approach across RHS gardens and will allow our teams to champion fresh, seasonal ingredients - including produce grown right here in the Kitchen Garden.
"We can’t wait to welcome you to enjoy these new additions, alongside all your favourites, in one of Yorkshire’s most special garden settings."
