North Yorkshire Police have revealed the details of a high-speed pursuit through Harrogate that saw three men arrested for drug offences.

North Yorkshire Police have revealed the details of a high-speed pursuit through Harrogate that saw three men arrested for drug offences.

The incident occurred last Wednesday (10th November) when a vehicle failed to stop for officers on Skipton Road.

The vehicle made off and was pursued before it crashed on Cold Bath Road.

The driver, a 23-year-old man, ran away – but passers-by directed police officers towards him and he was stopped and arrested.

He was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply, acquiring criminal property, dangerous driving and failing to stop.

Two other male suspects, aged 18 and 15, were also arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

They have been released under investigation while police enquiries continue.

A police statement said:

"The Expedite team focuses on those involved in drug dealing, particularly ‘county lines’ – dealers travelling from outside of North Yorkshire to pedal drugs in our towns, often exploiting vulnerable and young people and forcing them to sell their drugs for them.

"Tackling county lines drug dealing is a priority for us, and Expedite teams work proactively to prevent and detect drug dealing and associated offences. They also work to safeguard and protect those who are vulnerable and targeted by organised crime networks."

Anyone who has any information about drug dealing in their area is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police via the force website, www.northyorkshire.police.uk or on 101.
