Police appeal for information after elderly man hit by car in Harrogate

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Harrogate town centre yesterday (Tuesday 28th December).

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Harrogate town centre yesterday (Tuesday 28th December). The incident occurred just before 9am outside Waitrose on Station Parade. A beige Renault Scenic collided with a pedestrian, a man in his 70's, who suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. Police and ambulance crews attended the scene and initially treated the man before he was taken to Hospital. Station Parade was closed for several hours to allow officers to investigate the collision. The cordon was lifted just before 1pm. A police statement said:

"Officers need to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who stopped to assist to contact them. "Information can be provided by calling 101, selecting option 2 and asking for TC 428 Bainbridge or by emailing emma.bainbridge@northyorkshire.police.uk."
