A modern European bakery and New York-style pizza parlour is set to open on Cold Bath Road.
The Cold Bath Bakehouse will open in place of Lancasters Bakery, which closed after 119 years in February.
It will serve fresh bakes and barista coffee throughout the morning, and New York-shire style pizza at lunchtime and into the evening.
Cold Bath Bakehouse is the bake-child of Harrogate foodie trio; artisan baker Jason Daniel, Joanna McMurdo co-author of Eat, Walk Harrogate and Papitos wine bar owner Olsi Papa.
The trio said they are excited to bring a “fresh new offering” to Cold Bath road.
Tony Fulford, former owner of Harrogate’s legendary Chez La Vie, is acting as restaurant consultant on the project.
Joanna McMurdo said:
“It’s an honour to be opening Cold Bath Bakehouse on the site of iconic bakery Lancasters who generously served the hungry Cold Bath road community for so many years.
“To have the Lancaster family’s blessing means so much, and we’re delighted to be continuing their legacy by offering a selection of Lancasters favourites alongside our daily menu”.
Cold Bath Bakehouse will open daily from 7am. It plans to open in June, with an official opening date to be revealed soon.
