New Deputy Manager appointed at 'outstanding' Harrogate nursery

Outstanding' Harrogate nursery Belmont Grosvenor has appointed a new Deputy Manager in the form of 41-year-old Donna Griffiths.

An 'outstanding' Harrogate nursery has appointed a new Deputy Manager.

Donna Griffiths, 41, who joined Harrogate independent prep school Belmont Grosvenor six years ago as a teaching assistant, has been promoted to the role of Deputy Manager of the school’s Magic Tree Nursery.

A familiar face in the co-educational school’s Early Years department, Donna gained experience during her years working with children across all age groups, from the youngest babies in Nursery to the oldest children in pre-Reception preparing to join Belmont Grosvenor’s Reception class later in the year.

Married with two teenage children and four stepchildren, Donna completed a two-year Foundation Degree at the University of York St John, and returned to the classroom in September last year to begin her BA Honours.

Jo Henderson, Nursery Manager at Belmont Grosvenor, said:

"Donna is a highly valued and experienced member of the team at BGS and we are delighted to have appointed her as Deputy Nursery Manager.

"I am looking forward to working with Donna as my Deputy to enhance our already ‘outstanding’ setting."

Working closely with Miss Henderson, Donna’s role as Deputy Manager will also encompass staff wellbeing and safeguarding.

Donna said:

"From the moment I joined Belmont Grosvenor School six years ago, I knew it was where I wanted to stay. The warm, family atmosphere of the school and nursery is so special – along with its stunning setting in 20-acres of grounds.

"I am delighted to have been appointed as Deputy Nursery Manager and am excited about working alongside Jo to assist with the day to day running of Magic Tree Nursery and ensuring all our children, and their families, get the most out of the caring and nurturing environment we provide here at Belmont Grosvenor School."

Belmont Grosvenor School and Magic Tree Nursery is based at Swarcliffe Hall, Birstwith, near Harrogate, and cares for children from three months to 11 years. Set in 20-acres of grounds, youngsters at BGS benefit from an extensive range of daily activities including swimming, Forest School, languages and drama.
