Masham Sheep Fair set to go ahead

The Masham Sheep Fair will be going ahead this year, organisers have confirmed. The event will take place on 25th and 26th September in Masham market square. Run by local businesses and volunteers, the Masham Sheep Fair aims to raise money for charity whilst filling the town with sheep-themed fun. Events across the weekend include a sheep show, sheep racing and craft market, as well as a number of stalls, demonstrations and a children's fair. https://www.facebook.com/mashamsheepfair/posts/1663909873999851

Masham boasts one of the largest market squares in England, famous for its sheep sales where in the past as many as 70,000 sheep were sold each year.

A spokesperson said:

"Masham is a wonderful market town which is worth visiting at any time of year, as well as during the Sheep Fair!

"It's also a great base for exploring the beautiful Yorkshire Dales."
