Mackenzie's Farm Shop are gearing up to host their annual 'taster weekend' later this month. Over the weekend of the 27th and 28th November, the farm shop will be welcoming a host of local suppliers to offer samples of their products. Baltzersen's Bakery, The Cheeseboard of Harrogate, Berkmann Wine Cellars, The Original Baker and Cold Bath Brewing Co are among those offering samples to visitors. Mackenzie's will also be hosting 'Smokehouse Sunday' where they'll be offering samples from their own on-site smokehouse - with a focus on Christmas! The event will run from 10am-3pm at the farm shop at Wood Nook Farm, just outside of Harrogate. [caption id="attachment_20371" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Mackenzie's Farm Shop owners Paul and Gabby.[/caption] Owners Paul and Gabby celebrated two years since they took charge of Mackenzie's last month. Reflecting on a challenging year, they said:
"In 2021 we redeveloped and expanded the shop footprint and range and welcomed two small boutique businesses in Pure Natural Therapy and Farm Interiors to the experience. "We're looking forward to welcoming you in the coming months as we head into Christmas!"The pair also revealed their vision for Mackenzie's in 2022, including changes to the café menu and some big plans for the Smokehouse. They added:
“While the shop and café will stay on the current site, the Smokehouse will be growing into a new purpose-built site just a couple of miles down the road to cope with the huge increase in demand from other retailers and restaurants for our renowned smoked products. "We'll be putting in a window to the smoking kilns so you can see the products smoking from the shop, we'll be offering smokehouse tours, tasting events, hand carved smoked salmon, bacon and other products served in the shop straight from the kilns and carved right in front of you!
