Local footballers team up with Harrogate Hospital to prepare festive hampers

Footballers from Harrogate Railway have teamed up with a local charity to prepare festive hampers for people in need.

Footballers from Harrogate Railway have teamed up with a local charity to prepare festive hampers for people in need. The Festive Hamper Appeal has been organised by Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity (HHCC), with the aim of bringing "a smile and a touch of festive joy" to children, young people and families who are struggling. And thanks to support from Harrogate Railway, as well as from the wider community and local businesses, they have been able to pack a total of 1,200 festive hampers. The hampers have been delivered to Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust sites across North Yorkshire and the North East. Railway Club Secretary David Shepherd said:

"Having Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity as Harrogate Railway's chosen charity partner is a win-win for us. "Not only does it give us the opportunity to help a fantastic organisation fulfil its goals in supporting Harrogate Hospital and the wider community, it gives us a feel good factor; knowing our players, committee and members along with the use of our Station View facilities is helping to support the wider community. "Long may it continue."
