A fundraising 'Jail & Bail' event will see a number of Harrogate's community leaders 'locked up' in support of Herriot Hospice Homecare and Saint Michael's Hospice.
A brave group of well-known figures including Peter Wright, the Yorkshire Vet, and Tommy Cannon, of the famed double act Cannon and Ball, will be arrested, charged with (fictitious!) crimes and placed on trial.
When found (inevitably) guilty, they will be sent to jail in the cellars of Swinton Park, where their only hope of freedom lies in raising £1,000 in bail money with the help of their connections, friends and – most importantly – the public!
All the funds raised will go towards the vital work of Herriot Hospice Homecare and Saint Michael’s Hospice in supporting local families dealing with terminal illness and bereavement.

A spokesperson for St Michael’s said:
“We need more willing prisoners! Do you think your boss should be locked up for charity? Or does your friend need taking away in handcuffs?
“Every penny raised will go towards supporting the work of Herriot Hospice Homecare and Saint Michael’s Hospice, so get in touch and nominate a prisoner by emailing partnerships@saintmichaelshospice.org.”*
