Knaresborough's free 'Party in the Castle' screening of Glastonbury is set to return following a successful fundraising campaign.
Knaresborough & District Chamber needed to raise £5,000 for the event to continue after funding was cut by North Yorkshire Council.
However, thanks donations from local businesses and residents, as well as grants from Knaresborough Relief in Need, Knaresborough Lions and Knaresborough Rotary Club Waugh Trust, the event will go ahead on Saturday 28th June.
A crowdfunding page was able to accumulate £3,500, whilst the rest of the required funds will be made up by grants.
Money raised will go towards costs for screen, insurances, waste disposal, licensing and permits.

A spokesperson for Knaresborough Chamber said:
“Thank you to everyone who donated, support and given to such a generous amount and made this possible!”
The free-to-attend event invites visitors to the grounds of Knaresborough Castle for a screening of Glastonbury, with people often bringing their own chairs and picnic blankets for a festival atmosphere.
Live footage will be streamed live on the big screen from 5pm until 11pm.
