Barratt Developments Yorkshire East has donated £1,000 to Henshaws, a Harrogate charity which supports people living with disabilities.

Housebuilder Barratt Developments Yorkshire East has donated £1,000 to a Harrogate charity which supports people living with sight loss and other disabilities.

As part of their Community Fund initiative, the builder have chosen to support Henshaws - a specialist college located close to their Kingsley Meadows development. Henshaws will be able to use the funds to further their 'Forest School' which gives young people the opportunity to benefit from hands-on learning experiences in a woodland environment.

Barratt Developments Yorkshire East’s Community Fund initiative sees the housebuilder support the communities in which it builds by donating £1,000 of funding to an important local charity each month.

Daniel Smith, Managing Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, said:

"Henshaws does a truly fantastic job in offering its support to those in need in the local communities. We hope that our Community Fund donation will help to enhance the vital work that the charity does and help it to build on the fantastic facilities it offers to local students."

Gemma Young, Yorkshire Fundraising Manager at Henshaws, said:

"We are truly thankful to Barratt Developments Yorkshire East for choosing us as a Community Fund recipient.

"It’s a very difficult time for charities at the moment, and we are incredibly grateful for this donation which will help us continue to support young people and their families. The funds are going towards our inspirational Forest School which we’re really excited about!"
