Harrogate woman crowned the ultimate 'Lockdown Hero'

The winner of the Your Harrogate 'Lockdown Hero' competition has been revealed, and will be heading to Grantley Hall for an overnight stay!

The winner of the Your Harrogate 'Lockdown Hero' competition has been revealed, and will be heading to Grantley Hall for a luxurious overnight stay! Sarah Smith from Harrogate has been recognised for her work as a nurse at Harrogate Hospital, tirelessly helping others within her community during lockdown. Sarah, who has even recovered from Coronavirus herself before continuing to help others, was nominated by her friend Lynne and will be pampered at Grantley Hall as a treat. [caption id="attachment_1534" align="alignnone" width="2560"] Sarah will be heading to Grantley Hall as a reward for her tireless work and dedication during lockdown.[/caption] Our Lockdown Hero competition received around 400 entries, but it was the hard work and determination that saw Sarah scoop the prize. Sarah's friend Lynne, who wrote the nomination, was in awe of the tireless work Sarah had done for the community:

"Sarah worked throughout the lockdown serving the community. Unfortunately Sarah caught Coronavirus herself and was very poorly however she went back at work as soon as she could to continue to look after others. "The virus has left her symptoms of fatigue but she still keeps going!"
