Harrogate Town reacts to news that spectators can return

Harrogate Town will be able to welcome fans to the EnviroVent Stadium for the first time this season as Harrogate is categorised as 'Tier 2.'

Harrogate will be categorised as Tier 2 (High alert) when the country comes out of the second national lockdown on Wednesday 2nd December. And that spells good news for Harrogate Town AFC, who will be able to welcome fans to the EnviroVent Stadium for the first time this season. The club are playing their football in League Two for the first time in their history, but have been unable to enjoy the feat with supporters until now. Garry Plant, Managing Director at the club, said:

“We’re really looking forward to crowds filling the EnviroVent Stadium again, we’ve got a lot of hoops to jump through with all the authorities we have to get signed off which is going to be a bulk of work. “We are going to have to socially distance so have to do all the calculations around that, we must look after staff, players and supporters and as eager as we all are to get some noise back in the stadium we are keen to make sure we do everything correctly.”
The club have told fans they will be releasing information on upcoming matches 'as soon as possible'. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
