Harrogate primary school joins volunteers for community litter pick

Woodfield Community Primary School in Harrogate have joined forces with local volunteers to hold a community litter pick in Bilton.

Children at Woodfield Community Primary School in Harrogate have joined forces with local volunteers to hold a community litter pick in Bilton. Woodfield's Class 3 joined up with residents, volunteers and Harrogate Borough Councillor Matt Scott to gather litter around the local playing field. The group also cleared rubbish from the perimeter of the Woodfield School site in Harrogate, which backs onto local footpaths. Miss Jo Marwood, Headteacher at Woodfield Community Primary School, said:

"We were delighted to support our local community's efforts and raise the awareness of littering in the area. Our students were amazed at how much we collected on our site alone. We hope to do this regularly going forward. "Our school field is a tremendous asset to us and loved by all our students from our nursery through to our Year 6. We take great pride in our school and want to ensure that it is safe and ready to use at all times for everyone."
