Harrogate hotel named in list of Britain's best stately homes

Goldsborough Hall has been named in Good Housekeeping's Bridgerton-inspired list of Britain's best stately homes.

Goldsborough Hall has been named in Good Housekeeping's list of Britain's best stately homes. The leading women's magazine have comprised a list of the best Bridgerton-inspired stately homes for people to visit post-lockdown. And 400-year-old Goldsborough Hall, located just a few miles from Harrogate, was named at number 10. [caption id="attachment_9059" align="aligncenter" width="1381"] Goldsborough Hall was among the top 10 stately homes to visit post-lockdown.[/caption] Good Housekeeping said the stately home was both "cosy and atmospheric" and somewhere to visit post-lockdown:

"We love the antique oak-panelled Jacobean library, with ornately painted ceilings, low lighting and dark leather chesterfields. "It's both cosy and atmospheric, the perfect spot for pre or post-dinner drinks, or to warm up in front of the fire after a day exploring."
Swinton Park was the only other stately home from Yorkshire to feature on the list, whilst Chatsworth House in the Peak District, Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire and Ickworth in Suffolk were ranked as the top three. Good Housekeeping magazine created their Bridgerton-inspired list to give fans of the Netflix show some ideas for grand period properties to visit or stay in. Netflix show Bridgerton, set during the Regency era in England, was filmed at several stunning locations across the UK including Castle Howard in Yorkshire, North Mymms Park, Wilton House and Badminton House in the Cotswolds.
