Harrogate Brownies rewarded for their hard work throughout lockdown

The 12th Harrogate Brownies have been hard at work throughout the pandemic and 11 youngsters have just received their Gold Awards!

The 12th Harrogate Brownies have been hard at work throughout the pandemic and 11 youngsters have just received their Gold Awards! The girlguiding group have been completing challenges, including the 'Act Your Age Challenge' fundraiser for Children in Need, throughout lockdown and working towards bronze, silver and gold awards. Deborah Brown, Brown Owl of 12th Harrogate Brownies, said:

"The girls have been busy zooming since lockdown and working towards their theme awards as well as doing other challenges. "Over the last few days leaders have been delivering their Christmas goody bags which included interest badges, skill builders, theme awards, bronze and silver awards!"

On Saturday (12th December) Deborah presented 11 girls (Chloe Payne, Elsie Fogerty, Emilia Scott, Eva Haslewood, Florence Wilkinson, Hannah Brown, Jemima Dickie, Jessie Thomas, Molly Taylor, Penelope Parker and Tilly Fox) with their Gold Awards on their doorsteps.

Hannah Brown said:

"Brownies have helped me challenge myself and grow in confidence as well as learn new skills, make new friends, but most of all having lots of fun!"

The group, who are a charity and volunteer led organisation, offer fun, friendship and learning opportunities for their girl-only members.
