GALLERY: Another successful 'Walk to School Day' in the Harrogate district

It was another successful Walk to School Day across the Harrogate district today (Friday), organised by Zero Carbon Harrogate. Schoolchildren left their cars at home and chose to walk, cycle, take public transport or elect for a 'park and stride' option to reduce their carbon footprint. The event was the third of its kind in the area, started to help encourage better transport habits across the district. "The third Harrogate District Walk to School Day has been another huge success - the commitment from our district’s schools to keep the momentum going is fantastic.

"With so many children, parents and staff building better transport habits, with these half-termly events and many other days in between, we will be able to have a lasting impact on our district’s carbon footprint.

"A huge thank you and well done to all our Zero Heroes who chose a more sustainable method of transport today."
