More than 60 per cent of over 50's in the Harrogate district have now had their booster jab, according to NHS England. The latest figures reveal 60.8% of the age group have now received a third jab, equating to more than 45,000 people. The data also reveals that around 56,000 people in total in the district have had the jab. Adults in the over 50's age group have been eligible for a top-up dose of the Covid-19 vaccine since mid-September, when the NHS launched its national booster jab campaign. And UK scientists are set to announce an expansion of the booster programme, as the first cases of the newly discovered Omicron variant have been confirmed across England and Scotland.
