Countdown to ‘Happy Monday’ underway at Harrogate’s Fashion House Bistro

Harrogate’s Fashion House Bistro is counting down to a ‘Happy Monday’, when it will be reopening with a revamped breakfast menu, increased outdoor seating – and plenty of returning customers. The popular Swan Road bar and restaurant has already taken a number of confirmed bookings for 9am on Monday, April 12, when its doors are opened for the first time since last November. Owner David Dresser said:

“We can’t wait to reopen the Fashion House Bistro, and when we do it’s going to be a very ‘happy Monday’ for us and our customers “The third lockdown has given us the time to look at our menus, in particular our breakfast offering. In addition to the traditional English breakfast, we have introduced a number of exciting new dishes to cater for all tastes. “We are now bringing staff back from furlough to make sure everything is in pristine condition, and it’s great seeing them again. The only unknown is the weather. And if the sun shines it really will be a ‘glorious twelfth’!"
New on the Fashion House Bistro breakfast menu is American style butter milk pancakes, a full vegetarian breakfast, organic porridge, Huevos Rancheros, smashed avocado and ‘shakshuka, which is baked eggs, spinach and peppers in a spicy tomato sauce with feta, herbs and sourdough bread. Last summer, the Fashion House Bistro was given permission to use the grassed public space on the corner of Swan Road and Cornwall Road, to help accommodate social distancing measures. This land is deemed part of The Stray, and more than a month after asking if he can use it again, he is still awaiting an answer. David added:
“We took great care of the area and only used this additional space when it was dry and warm. “This land is adjacent to the Fashion House Bistro, separated by a pavement. There’s no health and safety issues. We were responsible custodians and ensured it was always left how we found it, clean, tidy and litter free. “Obviously, we would love to use it again, particularly as we are not permitted to serve customers indoors. We just need to know either way, sooner rather than later.”
