Councillors to hold investigation into Harrogate's Nightingale Hospital

A committee of councillors have launched an investigation into why the Nightingale Hospital in Harrogate wasn’t used to treat any coronavirus patients.

A committee of councillors have launched an investigation into why the Nightingale Hospital in Harrogate wasn’t used to treat any coronavirus patients. The West Yorkshire Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee will ask NHS officials to give evidence into how it would have been staffed if it had been needed. The facility at Harrogate Convention Centre was officially opened in a remote ceremony by Captain Sir Tom Moore 10 months ago. Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the temporary hospital would be dismantled and close at the start of April. Although not needed to treat anyone with coronavirus, Harrogate's Nightingale has been used to carry out scans and imaging for non-Covid patients. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here
