Coronavirus: PCR and lateral flow tests unavailable despite covid surge

There are no PCR tests available across the Harrogate district and the rest of the UK - despite a surge in covid cases over Christmas.

There are no PCR tests available across the Harrogate district and the rest of the UK - despite a national surge in covid cases over the Christmas period. The government website cannot offer any available PCR appointments for people experiencing symptoms, whether they are a key worker or not. And lateral flow tests are also unavailable to order online as of this morning (Wednesday 29th December). It comes after the number of covid infections in Harrogate - and in the UK as a whole - reached an all-time high. The government website is urging people to head to a walk-in test site, but the only available sites in the UK are in Scotland and Wales. You can check the availability of PCR tests here.
