100,000th booster vaccination administered in Harrogate district

More than 100,000 people in the Harrogate district have now received their covid booster vaccination.

More than 100,000 people in the Harrogate district have now had their covid booster vaccination, according to government figures. As of Monday (27th December), 100,290 booster vaccinations have been administered across the district, with Harrogate's vaccination centre welcoming appointments until Christmas Eve. The vaccination centre at the Great Yorkshire Showground is temporarily closed however, and will start again on January 4th for those who have pre-booked via the national booking system. Tim Yarrow, Operations Manager at Harrogate's vaccination centre, said:

"Just to clarify so people don’t end up going to the wrong place - the Showground site and Ripon are closed till next week and are then open for appointments and walk-in patients. "It will be available for boosters, firsts, seconds and third primary vaccinations for all 18's and over. We will be doing more U18’s on selected dates. "The Harrogate Hospital vaccination clinic are on the national booking system for appointments this week as are Chain Lane in Knaresborough and a few other pharmacy sites."
135,444 residents have received their first dose of the vaccination, whilst 126,074 have received their second. Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
