A Yorkshire health company is teaming up with David Lloyd Harrogate as part of its mission to raise awareness of bone and muscle health and encourage people to take a more proactive approach to ageing.
Screen My Bones, founded by Yorkshire entrepreneurs Gary Andrew Rhodes and Nichola Taylor, provides advanced radiation-free bone health screening using Echolight REMS technology.
The company operates clinics in Leeds and Sicklinghall, near Harrogate, and is expanding through partnerships with fitness and wellbeing organisations across the UK.
The founders believe many people track their sleep, heart rate and fitness performance but pay little attention to the health of their bones until problems arise.
Founder Gary Rhodes said:
"We measure our sleep, stress, calories and heart rate — yet most people still have no idea how strong their bones are."
Screen My Bones aims to identify changes in bone health before fractures or significant physical decline occur, while also providing education around nutrition, menopause, muscle preservation, mobility and healthy ageing.

For Gary, the business was inspired by a personal experience helping his grandmother after she was diagnosed with osteoporosis.
He said:
"Watching her regain strength, movement and belief in her future completely changed the course of my life.
"It made me question why so many people only discover these problems after a fracture or major decline has already happened."
The company is challenging the idea that osteoporosis and physical decline are simply inevitable parts of getting older, arguing that awareness and intervention should start much earlier in life.
Gary added:
"Bones are living tissue. Like muscle, they respond to the environment we give them.
"Movement matters. Nutrition matters. Hydration matters. Hormones matter. Lifestyle matters.
"People often speak about osteoporosis as though it simply arrives with age, but in many cases it is a long-term deconditioning process.
"We want people to stop waiting until something breaks before they start paying attention."
Alongside its screening services, Screen My Bones offers access to expert-led education and guidance designed to help people better understand the factors that influence long-term strength, mobility and independence.
The partnership with David Lloyd Harrogate forms part of the company's wider expansion plans and growing network of health, wellness and fitness organisations aimed at making proactive bone health screening more accessible within local communities.
Further expansion is planned throughout 2026 as awareness of preventative bone and muscle health continues to grow.
