A Harrogate clinic has become the first in the town to introduce a new pelvic floor treatment.
K Govind Medical Aesthetics has introduced the SupraMax Pelvic Floor Chair, a medical-grade treatment designed to strengthen the pelvic floor and support those living with bladder weakness, urgency, or loss of confidence caused by pelvic floor dysfunction.
The chair uses High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic (HIFEM) therapy to deliver thousands of targeted pelvic floor contractions in a single, 28-minute session.
The treatment is entirely non-invasive, requires no recovery time, and is suitable for both women and men.
Clinic director and independent Nurse prescriber Katie Govind explained:
“Pelvic floor weakness is much more common than people realise, yet it often goes unspoken.
“Whether caused by childbirth, menopause, surgery, or age, it can have a huge impact on quality of life.
“By introducing the SupraMax Chair to Harrogate, we’re giving patients access to a safe, clinically proven treatment that can restore function, confidence, and dignity.”
While pelvic floor conditions are often associated with women, K Govind Medical Aesthetics stresses that men can also benefit from treatment, particularly those experiencing post-prostate surgery symptoms or age-related changes.
Katie added:
“What makes this treatment exciting is how accessible it is. Patients can walk in, have a session in their everyday clothes, and walk straight out again.
“It fits into daily life while offering results that traditional exercises alone often can’t achieve.”
The clinic believes the introduction of this technology will spark important conversations around pelvic health in Harrogate, a subject that affects many but is rarely discussed openly.
