Pupils, parents and staff gathered to celebrate another successful academic year as Belmont Grosvenor School held its annual Speech Day and prize-giving ceremony.
Held on the Head's Lawn at the independent prep school in Birstwith, the event recognised pupils for academic and sporting achievements, as well as kindness, enthusiasm and their contribution to school life.
Guest speaker and former pupil Leah Brown, a qualified solicitor and founder of The WayFinders Group, returned to the school more than 30 years after leaving.
Speaking to pupils, parents and staff, she shared three pieces of advice she learned during her time at Belmont Grosvenor.
Leah said:
"Aim higher than feels comfortable – the sky is your limit. You are at a school that really believes in you.
"It is not about being the best, it is about being your best.
"Ask for help before you need it. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness.
"And make the most of the people around you. None of us do anything significant on our own. Trust the people around you to recognise your gifts and your ability.
"When things do not go the way you planned, what matters most is your commitment to make it right."
Leah joined Chair of Governors Charlie Brooksbank and Headteacher Sian de Gracia to present trophies and awards to pupils during the ceremony.
Belmont Grosvenor School, based at Swarcliffe Hall in Birstwith, welcomes children from three months to 11 years and is set within 20 acres of grounds.
