Your Harrogate listener bags £1,000 cash prize A Your Harrogate listener has scooped £1,000 in cash as part of our 'Grand Place to Live' competition with Verity Frearson. We teamed up with the Harrogate estate agent to give listeners the chance to win the amazing cash prize - just for telling us why they love living and working in this area. And Harrogate nurse Rachel Ibison was selected as our winner. She said:
"I was up here for work and I just fell in love with the place. "I moved up here and since then I've been up here for about 12 years. I have a great group of friends, I got into running, I met my other half... It's just home, it's brilliant. "The fact that you've got the countryside on our doorstep is just fantastic. There's so many places to go to, it's just brilliant."When asked how she will spend the money, Rachel said:
"I think it will go towards a paddleboard. We've recently been to the Lakes and tried paddleboarding and kayaking and fell in love with it. It's such great fun."Congratulations Rachel! Read more local stories from Your Harrogate here.
