Your Harrogate listener Georgia Mace has received an extra special Christmas gift following a visit from our Secret Santa.
Your Harrogate delivers Secret Santa present to worthy winner One Your Harrogate listener has received an extra Christmas gift following a visit from our Secret Santa. We teamed up with Vida Healthcare for a special festive competition in which we asked you to nominate someone who deserves an extra Christmas gift this year. And following hundreds of nominations, it was the story of Birstwith resident Alison Mace and her daughter Georgia that caught Santa’s attention. Georgia is 17-years-old but functions at around 9-years-old due to DiGeorge Syndrome. She has a congenital heart defect which has resulted in global delay and an array of special needs and disabilities. She relies massively on technology everyday, and so Alison asked Secret Santa if he could deliver Georgia a laptop… And he delivered! Alison told Your Harrogate’s Nick Hancock:
“She has DiGeorge Syndrome and she has a congenital heart defect and some special educational needs, but she’s doing really well and she was so excited this morning. “She loves technology. She’s forever doing video clips and putting music to sketches and different things. She’s very talented with a computer and has wanted a laptop for ages.”After opening the gift, Georgia said:
“I love it! Now I can finally get all the editing apps I need! “I’ll use it mostly for editing, courses online, and Netflix, Disney Plus and Amazon Prime.”Listen to the call in full as Your Harrogate’s Nick Hancock spoke to both Alison and Georgia: [audio mp3="https://vouchers.yourharrogate.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/georgia.mp3"][/audio] We still have one more Secret Santa gift to deliver thanks to our friends at Vida Healthcare...
