To celebrate their 100th year, Yorkshire Cancer Research will hold a special centenary gala dinner at Castle Howard.
The dinner is called 'A Night Like No Other' and will take place on 27th September to raise funds for cancer research.
Rt Hon Nicholas and Victoria Howard will be hosting the evening in their Grade I listed home, Castle Howard, home to the iconic series Bridgerton.
The event planner, Jane Nordli, had her own breast cancer diagnosis last year.
After attending the first Gala Dinner planning meeting, she decided to get a lump checked out, which turned out to be breast cancer.
Having personally experienced the life-saving benefits of early diagnosis, Jane is determined to make this event a resounding success and help raise vital funds so more people can be diagnosed and treated early.
Designer Charlotte Lloyd-Webber will be dressing the interior of Castle Howard with inspiring displays that celebrate Autumn and the heritage of Castle Howard.
Having recently lost a family member to cancer, Charlotte wants to remind people of the vital work the charity does to save lives in Yorkshire and beyond.
Michelin-starred Chef Andrew Pern, who recently lost his dad to cancer, has created a Yorkshire-inspired five-course tasting menu for the evening to showcase the vibrant autumnal produce grown on the Castle Howard estate.
Chair of the Yorkshire Cancer Research Helmsley Local Volunteer Group, Fiona Lovell sits on the Gala Dinner Committee.
Since Fiona became Chair, Helmsley Local Voluntary Group has organised dog walks, tea parties, community talks, sport competitions and many more events, raising over £119,000 for life-saving cancer research.
The Master of Ceremonies for the evening is award-winning actress and presenter Jo Pickard, who will also be the auctioneer for the fundraising auction.
Jo said:
“My sister-in-law and her mum both had breast cancer which was a very difficult time for our family.
"They were involved with Yorkshire Cancer Research and made a big difference by fundraising for the charity.
"Seeing their efforts has inspired me to support the hugely important work of the charity and help raise vital funds, so other families don’t have to go through what we did.”
A Night Like No Other will be held on Saturday, 27 September 2025 at Castle Howard and there are still sponsorship opportunities available.
