Yorkshire Cancer Research is celebrating the first birthday of its shop on Oxford Street in Harrogate town centre.

The shop was opened on Oxford Street on 27th September 2022 by former TV presenter, journalist and host Christine Talbot. Christine was successfully treated for breast cancer after being diagnosed in 2012. The shop has raised £160,000 for pioneering cancer research during its time in Harrogate. Shop Manager Kate said:
“It has been a fantastic first year for the Harrogate shop. We have a wonderful team of dedicated volunteers. "I would like to say a very big thank you to them and to all our customers and donors. "We are incredibly grateful for the fabulous donations that we receive.”[caption id="attachment_80575" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] The Yorkshire Cancer Research shop on Oxford Street.[/caption] An independent charity, Yorkshire Cancer Research took over the site of the former Porters store as part of its ambitious plans to open shops on every high street in Yorkshire.
