William and Victoria appeals for help after chairs taken from restaurant

William & Victoria is appealing for information after a man was pictured carrying chairs away from the restaurant.

A Harrogate restaurant is appealing for information after eight chairs worth £680 were allegedly taken from its premises without permission.

William & Victoria on Cold Bath Road released CCTV images showing a man carrying chairs away from the rear of the restaurant.

In a post on social media, the business said a dark-coloured car pulled up opposite the restaurant at around 4.03am on Wednesday 9th September, facing towards the Crown roundabout:

“He got out of his car and headed straight to the rear of the restaurant.

“He then left with eight Italian Nardi chairs to the value of £680.”

The restaurant said it believed the incident may have been targeted because the man appeared to know where the chairs were kept.

Its CCTV does not provide a clear view of the vehicle, so nearby residents and businesses are being asked to check footage from security cameras and video doorbells.

The spokesperson added:

“This is where our Cold Bath Road neighbours might be able to help.

“If you have CCTV, Ring or doorbell footage covering the road or surrounding area around 4.03am, please get in touch.”

William & Victoria said the incident had been reported to North Yorkshire Police and that council cameras in the area were also being checked.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured or has information about the incident is asked to contact the restaurant or North Yorkshire Police.
