Harrogate-based vehicle leasing company, Synergy Car Leasing, welcomed Tom Gordon, MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, to its headquarters today.
Tom Gordon spent time with Managing Director, Will Voisey and other members of the team to learn about Synergy and the impact its having on the volume of electric cars.
Discussions included the role that EVs will play as the country moves towards its net zero target and the financial options that are available both for businesses and individuals looking to make the switch.
Will Voisey said,
“It has been fantastic to welcome Tom here today and spend time discussing the importance of EVs and the infrastructure needed to support and increase their take-up across the country.
“Many people see the benefits of driving an electric vehicle, but have reservations about the practicalities, and some businesses may be hesitant to move their fleet over to electric, despite the cost savings and sustainability advantages.
We’re passionate about showing people and businesses how they can make the change."
He added,
“Schemes such as salary sacrifice help make driving an EV very cost-effective and offers a fantastic staff benefit supporting organisations in helping to attract and retain their best talent.
In addition, moving their fleet to electric vehicles can help businesses by supporting their environment, social and governance agenda (ESG) through reducing emissions and supporting their green credentials."
After spending time at Synergy, Harrogate and Knaresborough MP said,
“It has been a fun and informative visit, and it’s been very interesting to spend time with Will and the team here.
It’s clear that they care about delivering a great product and service to their customers, and that they are well-placed to help people understand the options available to them as they make the switch to electric vehicles.
He added,
It is great to see such a forward-thinking and successful business operating here in Harrogate.
Electric vehicles have much to offer both businesses and individuals. As we move towards achieving net zero targets in the UK, the Government must remove the remaining obstacles to electric vehicle users and provide support to push the transition further forward, particularly with consumers.”
