The roadworks in place on Skipton Road in Harrogate to allow for work on the new Tesco superstore will be in place for a further seven weeks.
That’s according to North Yorkshire Council, who have issued an update on the works currently affecting the A59.
The council said the roadworks, which include a one-way system along Skipton Road, have worked “as well as could be expected.”
And as works continue, the end date has been set for Sunday 23rd November due to "unforeseen circumstances."
A North Yorkshire Council spokesperson said:
“The one-way system in its present direction has been working as well as could be expected, as such the traffic management will be tweaked so that this current direction of traffic flow will be maintained throughout the remaining duration of the works to avoid further delay and to ensure consistency for the travelling public.
“The work has, unfortunately, seen its share of unforeseen circumstances, including the uncovering of an issue with the Yorkshire Water storm drain which required a drainage re-design, which has meant that the duration of works has regrettably been longer than originally anticipated.”
