New street art has been unveiled in Harrogate Town Centre, funded by Harrogare BID (Business Improvement District).
The BID has fully funded the new artwork along a bare wall on Cheltenham Road, close to the entrance of one of the town centre’s most popular multi-storey car parks, Jubilee – used by hundreds of people every week.
The new art has been designed to welcome people into the town centre, with the phrase ‘Welcome to Harrogate’ and a creation for each letter representing a well-known aspect of the town and its heritage.

These include spa waters, wellbeing, floral, afternoon tea, the local football club and more.
Bethany Allen, Operations and Projects Executive at Harrogate BID, said:
“We’re very pleased to deliver yet another street art project to spruce up our town centre and ensure it remains a must-visit destination.
“We know just how important creating the best possible first impression is and artwork installations such as this are essential in doing so, so enhancing areas that require improvement is a priority for us.
“We continue to take pride in our place and work hard to maintain Harrogate’s reputation as the jewel in Yorkshire’s crown.”
The BID team worked alongside local artist Tom Tommings to create the new artwork for the installation.
The BID has further proactive plans for new installations and other public realm campaigns throughout the rest of the year, with details set to be announced over the coming months.
If you have any questions on Harrogate BID’s public realm schemes, or any other campaigns, please email the team on info@harrogatebid.co.uk or visit the website.
