Scamp & Dude to open Harrogate store tomorrow

Scamp & Dude's new store on James Street, Harrogate.

British fashion brand Scamp & Dude will open its first permanent store in northern England in Harrogate tomorrow (Friday).

The two-floor shop at 2 James Street will open at 9:30am on 9th October, offering more than 2,100 sq ft of retail space.

The opening comes as the B Corp-certified womenswear brand celebrates its 10th anniversary and follows more than three years of searching for a location in Harrogate.

To mark the occasion, Scamp & Dude is holding a ‘Bolt Hunt’ around the town on Friday.

Celebrations will continue on Saturday, when the first 10 customers arriving from 9:30am will receive a free goody bag. A golden bolt will also be hidden in-store, with a surprise gift for the shopper who finds it.

Founded in 2016 by Jo Tutchener Sharp OBE, Scamp & Dude is known for its colourful clothing collections and charitable initiatives.

The Harrogate shop will feature the brand’s signature ‘Bolt Room’, a private fitting space that customers can book in advance to shop with friends and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

The business also plans to introduce a year-round programme of events and community activities.

Jason Maxwell, Harrogate BID CEO, said:

“It’s fantastic to welcome Scamp & Dude to Harrogate, particularly as the brand has chosen our town for its first permanent store in the North.

“James Street is a key part of Harrogate’s shopping offering, and seeing a recognised British brand invest in such a prominent location is really encouraging.

“Scamp & Dude brings something different to the town centre, not just through its clothing collections, but also through its community-focused approach and charitable work. We’re delighted to see the business opening its doors and look forward to welcoming its customers to Harrogate.”

Scamp & Dude has donated more than £4.4 million in cash and products through its charitable programmes.

Its Super Scarf Mission has provided more than 93,000 scarves to women starting chemotherapy, while more than 10,000 Superhero Sleep Buddies have been donated to children who are seriously ill or have lost a parent.
