Roads to close for St George's Parade in Harrogate

Roads will be closed to allow for a St George's Day parade this weekend.

Various local scout groups will be marching through the streets of Harrogate this weekend as part of the St George's Parade.

Hundreds of Scouts, Cubs, Beavers and Squirrels as well as Guides, Brownies and Rainbows will take to the streets of Harrogate on Sunday (26th April).

The groups will start their march at 2pm.

The annual event is to celebrate the Scouting Movement, which was founded by Baden Powell in 1907.

As a result, the following roads will be closed between 1:45pm and 2:45pm:

  • Beech Grove
  • Victoria Avenue
  • Queens Parade
  • Station Road
  • North Park Road
  • Coach Road

Motorists are also asked to follow diversion signs and allow extra time for travel during the event.
