Ripon Racecourse, scene of the new Downton Abbey film, host their season finale this Saturday.
Gates open at 11:30AM on Saturday (27th September) for the Theakston’s Beer Festival and Harvest Festival.
Staff and racegoers are encouraged to bring food donations on the day for Ripon Community House, in aid of their food support initiative and the racecourse will be making a large donation to the charity.
Ripon Community House offers a safe environment and facilities for the whole community. They provide food parcels to those in need as well as a range of adult education classes, exercise classes and other community groups.
The Racecourse team are all still very much on a high after the course was featured in the Royal Ascot scenes of the new Downton Abbey Film, following filming last summer.
Jennie Eyres, from the Marketing Department at Ripon Races, said:
"It's been so hard to sit on our hands and not say anything.
"We were so glad to have them here, they were wonderful. We had about a weeks worth of filming and now it's great to see it on the big screen"
The team at Ripon Races brought in horses separately to set up the races for the film. They hope to welcome visitors from all over the world to 'Yorkshire's Garden Racecourse' next year and will even be running some Downton themed events! The 2026 season starts in April.
Before Thursday (25th September) you can win 2 tickets for Saturday's meet, and hear more from Jennie Eyres below:
