Ripon Grammar School has passed an inspection by a prestigious national schools' guide with flying colours.
The Good Schools Guide (GSG) is one of Britain’s most respected independent guides, publishing detailed reviews of 1,200 schools every year.
And an inspector, who visited Ripon Grammar last month, said it's both "forward-thinking" and "well-rounded."
They said:
“Forward thinking, down-to-earth and pupil focused, this is a place that cares about the whole child and makes sure they come out not just with good results but well-rounded and ready for the next steps.”
The inspector observed that, as the only co-educational, selective, state grammar school with boarding in the north of England, Ripon Grammar has "a unique offer.”
They added:
‘Unlike other websites, schools can't pay to be included in The Good Schools Guide. This means our review of this school is independent, critical and fair, and written with parents' best interests at heart.’
The GSG report follows The Sunday Times naming the school ‘The top state school in the North’ - the twelfth time the school has earned the accolade.
