A 6-year-old boy from Ripon has secured a bronze medal at a national jujitsu competition after taking on some of the country's top young fighters.

Lennox Dunn, who trains at Orbit Gym and Martial Arts in Ripon, competed at the ADCC UK Nationals last weekend.

The ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) is widely regarded as one of the leading organisations in submission grappling, hosting competitions for all ages and abilities, from beginners to elite athletes.

And Lennox, who has been training for around 18 months, competed in the children’s division, where bouts are typically 'short but intense.'

Speaking after the event, Lennox’s dad, Jamie, said:

“He went to absolute war! I couldn’t be any prouder of the heart and desire he’s shown going up against some of the best kids in the country.

“A massive thanks has to go out to his coaches.”

The national championships event took place in Coventry on Saturday (25th April), bringing together competitors from across the UK.
