Preparations underway for return of Harrogate 10k race

The Harmony Energy Run is back in Harrogate next month.

Preparations are underway for the return of the Harmony Energy Run Harrogate 10k next month.

Hundreds of runners expected to take part in the event on Sunday 28th June.

The route will once again take runners through the scenic Crimple Valley for one of the area's most popular summer road races.

Organised by Harrogate Harriers and starting at 10am from Harrogate Sports and Fitness Centre, the event offers a scenic multi-terrain route combining road and off-road sections.

Last year's event attracted 684 finishers.

The popular Junior Fun Run returns alongside the main race, giving children of all ages and abilities the chance to experience the buzz of race day.

Kids' runs take place before the 10k start.

Dan Atkinson, Race Director at Harrogate Harriers, said:

"Each year we deliver an iconic mixed terrain course, an amazing race village experience and terrific post-race goodies way beyond what competitors might expect, with first rate support from our enthusiastic and supportive marshals.

"It’s a brilliant advert for both our town and running club "

Peter Kavanagh, CEO of Harmony Energy, said:

"The Harmony Energy Run Harrogate 10k has become a real highlight of the summer calendar, and we're proud to be marking our fifth year as title sponsor.

"The dedication of the Harrogate Harriers volunteers and the enthusiasm of everyone who takes part, from competitive runners to first-timers, is genuinely inspiring.

"We can't wait to see the start line on 28th June."

Entry is priced at £21, or £19 for UKA-affiliated runners. The Junior Fun Run costs £3.

Places can be booked at racebest.com/races/tgq4s.
