North Yorkshire Police have launched a campaign to clamp down on uninsured drivers across the county.

It’s part of the national Op Drive Insured week-long campaign of “enhanced proactivity” to identify uninsured motorists. Officers on patrol are using ANPR and in-car technology to ensure offenders are brought to justice. A police spokesperson said:

“At a time when austerity is high, vehicle insurance is not a cut back you can afford to make.”
